Synastry Studies: The Fixed Cross and the Urge to Merge (part two)

'The one thing that is guaranteed to surprise students is when you tell them that there is more than one Venus/Mars polarity in the chart. Sometimes I tell them what it is, and sometimes I’m Virgo-cruel enough to ask them to go find it. After they sweat for a bit my Neptune wins out and I give in. We forget that Scorpio is also ruled by Mars. The legitimacy of old rulerships is something that makes itself known strongly when you study progressions and the progressed chart.

Revolutionary times

'Normality is soon to be a thing of the past, and over the next half decade we will be witness to social, technological, political and personal transformations which will result in a world quite different to the one we know today. This could have been said in 1988 - just prior to the Saturn, Uranus and Neptune conjunctions opposite Jupiter, which precipitated the New World Order and fall of communism. It could also have been said of the mid sixties - just prior to the Uranus/Pluto conjunction opposite Saturn, which polarized youth and age and evoked a social revolution.

Neptune in 1st House

' With Neptune in the 1st house, it represents a feeling of being lost and confused about your identity. You may not feel sure about what you want in life, and every time you try to establish solid ground in terms of self-definition, the lines become fuzzy and blurred. The Ascendant is our place of birth; it is the house of identity and potency and describes how we approach life and our personal outlook.'

Mercury Retrograde in Virgo in August-September 2010 - Beginning the Adventure Despite the Inadequacies

'Each Mercury Retrograde period is unique, yet related to other Mercury RX periods, usually because the signs are harmonized with those of past Mercury retrogrades. This one is also entirely in Earth, approximately trine the last period in April-May 2010. What does this mean for all of us?

Lot of children

'What is the astrological recipe for having many (more than an average number of) children? I think that it takes a combination of indications like:
- an important Mars (for production),
- planets in the 5th house of children
- and for enjoying it: Venus-Jupiter!
That is what I see in the example charts. Of course, it is important to know circumstances (where you live, what is 'normal').'

Pluto in 4th House

'Pluto in the 4th house affects the home, past, parents and childhood. The 4th house rules our origins and the way we relate to our family. With Pluto in the 4th house you may go through many experiences that affect your security. The fourth house rules the father and so he can go through a personal crisis, be affected by mental illness, depression. The father could be the power-head of the family financially, controlling the resources at home. There may be a feeling of early abandonment that has a negative impact and there will be deep resentment.

Synastry Studies: Rethinking Venus/Saturn

'One of the reasons we abhor Saturn is that he doesn’t let us get away with anything. In this, he is definitely the strict parent who knows us inside and out, especially when we tell him we’re going to the library when we really have plans to stay out way past our bed time. Saturn is the one who pushes us to work harder when we feel like being lazy. Saturn is the one who nags us about the right things at the right times.

Ceres and oil spills - short analysis

'From time to time, I like playing with various lists and statistics and try to get some astrological connections. Because the oil spill is a top subject this period of time I decided to take a look on this subject and to see if there is any astrological correlation. From the beginning my ideea is to see if Ceres is somehow involved – it is well known that Ceres and ecology are quite strong connected.'

Moon in Aquarius

'With Moon in Aquarius you need to be free of negative emotions such as greed, fear, anger and Jealousy. Emotions which might be deemed selfish and demanding are usually controlled or unacknowledged. Aquarian principles are concerned with social issues, ethical standards and equality. This means that you are far more concerned about matters that pertain to mankind rather than one individual. Emotionally you are tinged with futuristic qualities and instinctively know about social trends before they appear. You are nourished by ideas and patterns at work.'
