Coming Storm
(3 votes)Being born in April of 1968, and therefore conceived during ?the Summer of Love?, in my youth I often wondered if I would ever come to live in times as exciting as those during which I gestated (The Uranus-Pluto conjunctions). In fact, during my college years I did indeed witness a similar surge in the development of human affairs with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of Communist Europe (The Uranus-Neptune conjunctions). It was at this time that I became an astrologer. As an astrologer, I have of course looked toward the next outer planet event. I have finally undertaken a thorough analysis of the Uranus-Pluto cycle and its coming square. I have dubbed these squares the ?Coming Storm? because it seems obvious to me that the conjunction that stirred up so much trouble in the modest sign of Virgo should certainly manifest some stormy weather when it opens to square in the cardinal signs of Aries and Capricorn. Then there is the fact that because of a peculiar ?co-incidence? of their retrograde motions there will be seven exact squares (that?s right seven!) spanning a period of nearly three years. Outer-planet alignments are rare enough and clearly this is not a ?garden ?variety? outer-planet event. |
Predictive Astrology Techniques
(1 vote)"Most astrologers use a variety of techniques to "look into the future" of an individual. There are plenty of techniques used to make predictions for—and plan for—the future. Here, we share our preferred techniques—transits, secondary progressions, solar arc directions, solar return charts, and more. Transits, for example, challenge and pressure us to make changes in our lives and in our attitudes toward our lives. They bring us joy and sometimes sorrow—they pull out parts of ourselves and "force" us to face them. Secondary progressions reveal our cycles of maturity and growth, showing us how our personalities unfold. " |
Understanding Astrological Predictions
(1 vote)" Let's imagine that a girl named Ellen goes to a local astrologer, who, after studying Ellen's natal chart in relation to this month's planetary positions (transits), tells her that next weekend, she will meet a fine young man with whom she will begin a wonderful relationship. And that's exactly what happens. Ellen exclaims to Sue, a friend of hers: “It´s like magic! Everything happened just like my astrologer predicted!” Sue, impressed by what she hears, decides to make an appointment with the same astrologer. In her session, she is told that yes, she will indeed find that new job she's been looking for, and will have it by the end of May. Sue, delighted, goes home and waits for a response from the company to which she had sent her application, yet May comes and goes, and she doesn´t receive a call from them after all. “What a fool I was!”, she remarks the next time she sees Ellen, “I should have known: astrology is nonsense!”" |
YOUR LUNATION BIRTHDAY
(1 vote)"It has become customary among people interested in astrology to say: "I am a Leo," "I am a Sagittarius." What is meant by such statements is that the individuals in question were born when the Sun was located in the zodiacal signs Leo and Sagittarius. Zodiacal signs — which must be clearly differentiated from zodiacal constellations (groups of actual stars) — are simply 30-degree sections of the path which the Sun describes in its apparent yearly motion from one spring equinox to the next — more precisely, from two successive northward crossings by the Sun of the celestial equator." |
Electional Medical Astrology
(1 vote)"Electional and horary astrology are two areas of astrology that deserve more attention from students and professionals than they sometimes get. Related in interpretation but different in intent, horary and electional astrology are two forms of astrological chart analysis that are similar by analogy to the relationship between deductive and inductive reasoning. In horary astrology, a question is asked at a specific time and a chart is cast for that moment. Then the chart is interpreted according to the rules of horary interpretation to yield an answer. In electional astrology, someone wants to choose an auspicious or lucky time for an event in the future that can be planned, such as a marriage, signing real estate papers, or, in the case of Ronald Reagan, a presidential swearing-in ceremony. The astrologer begins by speculating with the client on a desirable time in the future and then casts a chart for that time and date. This chart is interpreted according to the guidelines for electional astrology in order to determine if this is the best possible date to insure success. In reviewing a tentative electional chart, the astrologer must decide whether or not the date and time are satisfactory. In truth , since it is not possible to get a “perfect” electional chart, s/he usually winds up casting half a dozen charts and trying to choose the one that makes the most sense. It’s a shame more people don’t know about horary and electional astrology because they can be very helpful in guiding life down easier pathways. Recently I looked on the Internet for some information on electional astrology and found very little." |
