Houses and Angles - 4
(2 votes)"Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, Immum Coeli The Ascendant signifies affairs pertaining to the First House. Similarly, the Descendant signifies affairs pertaining to the Seventh House; the Midheaven or Medium Coeli corresponds to the Tenth House; and the Immum Coeli or Lower Midheaven relates to the Fourth House. In the judgement of the matters governed by each of these four angular houses, the angle that is on its cusp should be considered by its sign and aspects received (conjunctions being of foremost importance), together with the sign and house placement of, and aspects received by, its Lord." Astrological Houses in Love & Relationships
(1 vote)"The first house, which is ruled by Mars, is how we seek our own individuality. It is how others see us, the side we present to the world--our unique face. It is also how we perceive life, and in relationship, our perceptions are everything. The 1st house is the house of the Ascendant, which will be covered in more detail separately. This house is one of the karmic houses and is given great weight in any type of chart reading. Any planet in this house is strong, especially if it is in contact with the Ascendant. This is true in the nativity and in the partnership chart. " |
Empty Houses
(1 vote)"An empty house is one that is not occupied by any planets at the time of birth. But this does not necessarily mean that, that particular area of life represented by the house is unimportant. Lack of planets indicates an area that does not require our attention until some point of life when some transiting planets visit it. Empty houses also relate to easy or latent karma, suggesting that the area of life represented is not a required subject in the present lifetime. Many empty houses in a birth chart indicates that the person needs to concentrate just on one or two specific areas in life." |
A Summary of the Twelve Houses
(1 vote)"The Twelve houses of the horoscope define twelve areas of our life. The beginning of each of the houses is called the cusp. Each house has what is called a natural sign and natural ruling planets. This is the sign and planet which are associated with that house in the natural chart beginning with Aries and ending with Pisces. " |

The Hemisphere Influences
"The planets positions often seem to become clustered in one part of the chart or another. When this occurs, there is a sort of hemisphere preponderance. A division of the circle perpendicularly produces two hemispheres, east and west. A split horizontally produces a southern hemisphere and a northern hemisphere. As you view your natal horoscope, the hemisphere on the left side of the chart is the eastern hemisphere with the extreme eastern point, the eastern horizon, being the Ascendant. The opposite side of the chart is the descendant or western hemisphere" |
