'Over the last few years, I’ve been working on channeling my anger at the suppression of the feminine down creative avenues. It’s actually pretty hard – much harder than I anticipated. The thread of discontent in me runs incredibly deep, and since I’ve been doing work with clients to help them de-condition from ways of thinking, being, and living that are rooted in patriarchal culture, I’ve seen how widespread is the damage from them. I feel it in me, and I feel it in my clients.
I have now gone into great detail about the 3 Liliths and have come up with some sort of theory of how they can be incorporated into the chart without driving one too crazy. The nature of Lilith is she is so hard to pin down, certainly mysterious, infuriating and does not conform to your bog standard planet.
Black Moon Lilith is the archetype of the Dark Goddess that I have mentioned in other Blogs. Her myth comes from Lilith, Adams first wife who refused to lay beneath him during the sexual act and otherwise. She chose to be exiled from paradise rather to submit to God.
Asteroid Lilith is the only real life physical body of the three Liliths. Therefore it is the only one with an actual discovery chart as delineated in a previous blog. There I briefly mentioned that there are 3 Liliths and I see them as each being a facet of the triple moon goddess.
"Thus Lilith entered my dreams. One of the dark goddesses, like Persephone, Hecate, and Kali, Lilith expresses the feminine power of the divine, creative life force. If we follow the mythological trail of these dark goddesses back in time to find the source of their darkness and negativity, we discover not only the possibility of a major shift in the collective human image of the feminine, but also some deep undercurrent of unease that needs to be acknowledged and healed in our personal lives.
"In the beginning was the Great Goddess, and the Goddess was the Earth, and the Earth was the Goddess. The origins of the cult of the Great Goddess lie hidden in the dim twilight of prehistoric time. The Goddess ruled for hundreds of thousands of years. In the course of time, the Mother-Goddess was overthrown and driven under, and the triumph of the most patriarchal of archetypes - Jahwe, God the Father, Allah - was complete in the Judaic, Christian and Moslem worlds.
"Dark Moon, Black Moon or Lilith, this hypothetical point in astrology is known by several names. Some argue that the Dark Moon is one thing, Black Moon another and Lilith yet another. The reality is that there is an asteroid named Lilith, but it is not the same as the Dark or Black Moon. However, when used as a point in a birthchart, all three names appear valid as they all seem to describe the same thing.
