"The following is the translation of the Conference kept  by Prof. Ornella Faracovi on the 11th November 1993 in the Physics Department of Milan university. Prof. Faracovi is  an expert of history of philosophy and the director of Centro Studi Enriques.  She is an expert of Renaissance and Medieval astrology- she has published  the Italian version of Cardano’s Comment to the second book of Tetrabiblos and  De iudiciis geniturarum, Marsilio Ficino’s astrological letters, and several books on astrology and philosophy in Middle Ages and Renaissance.

"A Triplicity means there are three Zodiac signs in each group that Trine each other, where Quadruplicity indicates there are Four Signs per group or Square each other. It is easiest to mentally like Triplicity with Trine and Quadruplicity with Square.

"The definitions of planets and signs are not random. The concepts and principles underlying these relationships are no longer a part of the curricula of life as it was for many centuries in the past, although oddly, many of these ideas still exist in our vocabulary and expressions.
Essential Dignity defines the relationship between the planets and a a zodiac sign. Each sign represents 30 degrees in the sky, yet each of these degrees is not equal. Essential Dignity describes each degree in terms of planets that have some power over each degree."

"The tradition of planetary hours stems from the ancient division of day and night, each into 12 equal portions of time.
