David Letterman: Hidden Vices Attacked

On October 1, 2009, David Letterman surprised is audience and the nation with an admission of having an affair and being the victim of an alleged extortion plot.  He just right out confessed about it and then went on with his show as if nothing happened.
If I take a look at the chart of David Letterman, April 12, 1947, 6 am, Indianapolis, IN, USA; which I believe to be accurate at least to within a minute or so.  His chart is sort of a paradox in astrological interpretation both Eastern and Western styles; that is, unless you take certain things into account.
The few factors that are in his favor are the Sun in the first house exalted, which is considered an indication of great personal power; and he also has the Moon in the ninth house, which is considered to be a position of increased personal good fortune. Other than that though things start to get murky in the chart of David Letterman:
The astrological indicator of his success and reputation, the ruler of the tenth house, in this case being Saturn, is strongly debilitated in Cancer indicating afflicted success or reputation; this could be part of what transpired as his losing out to Jay Leno in taking over the Tonight Show after Johnny Carson left.
Letterman has always has a sort of likeable, but cantankerous appeal; which could be ascribed to his "damaged reputation".  However he has had a long and successful career with his production company and the Late Night Show.
